MINOT, N.D. - The #6 ranked Minot State Beavers women's hockey team is set to open up the New Year at home in a two-game series against #3 ranked Maryville University. Game one is scheduled for Friday, January 10, at 4:00 pm at the ND State Fairgrounds (All Seasons Arena) in Minot, North Dakota. Game two is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, at 2:00 pm at the Maysa Arena (Eck Rink). The Beavers are currently 14-5-2 and Maryville is currently 13-5-3 on the season. 

The Beavers were last in action back on December 14, 2024, when they took on Dakota College at Bottineau. Minot State went on to win that game in a shut out with a final score of 6-0. The Beavers are currently riding a 4-game win streak and will be looking to build upon their success in 2025. 

Over the years, Minot State has found success over Maryville with a record of 6-2-0 over their opponent. The last time these two teams matched-up was back on January 25, 2024, where the Beavers defeated Maryville by a final score of 2-1. Minot State will be looking to make history repeat itself when they take on Maryville this weekend. 

Players to watch:

Journey Miller is the leading forward in points and goals scored for the Beavers with 19 points and 10 goals scored on the season. Makenna Beard will lead the defense as she has 10 points and 3 goals on the season. Haylie Biever leads the way in net for the Beavers with a 5-4-2 record and a 0.936 save percentage on the season.

Following the two-game series against #3 Maryville University, the Beavers will be back in action on the road in Fremont, Nebraska, to take on Midland University in a two-game series. Game one is scheduled for Friday, January 17, at 5:00 pm, and game two is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, at 4:00 pm.
