ADRIAN, MI -- The #2 Minot State Beavers women's hockey team wrapped up their two-game road series against #9 Adrian College with another tightly contested battle, skating to a 1-1 overtime draw on Friday afternoon at the Arrington Ice Arena. With the result, the Beavers move to 2-2-2 on the season, while Adrian College sits at 3-4-3.

Adrian struck first early in the opening period, taking a 1-0 lead at 3:10 into the period on a goal from Hailey Wiltshire, assisted by Genessie Williams and Ashlynn Stitt.

Neither team found the back of the net in the second period, as both defenses and goaltenders stood tall.

The Beavers evened the score late in the third period when
Paige Kozak netted her first goal of the season at 15:23 into the period, assisted by
Erica Fijala, tying the game 1-1 and forcing overtime.

Despite a few scoring chances in the extra frame, neither team was able to capitalize.

Minot State outshot Adrian 53-30 in the contest, generating heavy offensive pressure throughout the game, including 17 shots in both the first and third periods.

Goaltender
Jillian Ackerman turned in yet another strong performance for the Beavers, making 29 saves on 30 shots.

The Beavers went 0-for-2 on the power play, while successfully killing both of Adrian's man-advantage opportunities.

Following the hard-fought series in Adrian, the Beavers will continue their road stretch, traveling to Niagara Falls, NY to take on Niagara University in a two-game series. Game one is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, at 4:20 pm ET, with game two set for Sunday, October 19, at 10:30 am ET.
