MINOT, N.D. – After playing to a fourth tie in their last five contests on Saturday, the 7
th-ranked Minot State women's hockey team left little doubt Sunday in a shutout win over visiting Arizona State.
Jillian Ackerman stopped all 21 shots she faced and her teammates scored in every period, skating to a 4-0 win over the 4
th-ranked Sun Devils at the Maysa Arena, wrapping up the weekend series that saw the two teams tie 2-2 on Saturday.
Olivia Kirwan put Minot State (4-2-4 overall) on top 1-0 with 4 minutes, 7 seconds left on the clock in the first period, finishing off an assist by 
Cameron Schmidt.
The Beavers wasted no time in period No. 2 pushing the margin to 2-0 as 
Paige Kozak scored off an 
Olivia Opheim assist 57 seconds into the session.
In control, Minot State iced the win with a pair of late goals in the third period as 
Journey Miller scored off a 
Maddie Beek assist with 2:28 left, then 36 seconds later 
Abby Tallman added a power-play goal off assists from 
Abby Pineau and Kozak for the final 4-0 margin.
Minot State continues its current homestand hosting No. 2 Midland on Friday – Halloween – and Saturday in games with puck-drop slated for 3:45 p.m. both days.
