SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – One week after opening the season, the Beavers dive back in with a pair of matches, competing at the NSIC Duals on Sunday hosted by Sioux Falls.
The Minot State women's wrestlers battle host Sioux Falls and Jamestown in the Beavers' (0-1 duals) second and third duals of the young season.
"I expect we will have a strong showing with our lineup this weekend," Minot State coach
Brittney Mitchem said. "We're excited to compete."
The dual matches will be the first of the season for both Jamestown and Sioux Falls, which got their season underway at the Waldorf Open last Saturday, competing alongside the Beavers.
Minot State's two-time national qualifier,
Haleigh Lematta (145 pounds), led the way for the Beavers at the Waldorf Open, finishing 2
nd in her weight class, and will be in action once again in the Duals looking to lead the way once again.
Newcomers freshman
Alyssa Jones (131) and sophomore transfer
Aniya Herbin (207) both were 4
th at the Waldorf Open and look to continue a strong start to the season, as well, for Minot State this weekend.
