The Minot State Men's Wrestling picked up a strong road victory on Thursday night, defeating Jamestown 32-18 behind six match wins and four bonus-point performances.
The Beavers set the tine early at 125 pounds as
Cole Faircloth earned a first-period fall (2:12) to put Minot State out in front. After Jamestown responded with back-to-back falls at 133 and 141, Minot State regained momentum at 149 when
Ethan Wonser secured a hard-fought 14-11 decision.
Following a narrow sudden-victory loss at 157, the Beavers took control of the dual beginning at 165.
John Armstrong delivered a clutch fall at 5:59, swinging the momentum back in Minot State's favor. That momentum continued at 174, where
Gavin Turk dominated his bout, earning a technical fall (18-1) to extend the lead.
After a close decision went Jamestown's way at 184, Minot State sealed the dual with back-to-back pins in the upper weights.
Shafer Ehmke needed just 1:01 to record a fall at 197, and
Carmine Morton closed the night with a victory by fall at heavyweight to secure the 32-18 team score.
