MINOT, ND - The #1 ranked Minot State Beavers men's hockey team is headed to Athens County, Ohio, to take on #3 Ohio University in the final two-game series of the regular season. Game one is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, at 7:00 pm, and game two is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, at 2:00 pm. Minot State currently holds a record of 31-2-3, and Ohio University holds a record of 17-3-2.
The Beavers are coming off of a successful weekend against Maryville University where they swept a two-game series. In game one, on Friday, February 7, Minot State defeated Maryville University by a final score of 5-2. In game two, on Saturday, February 8, Minot State defeated Maryville University by a final score of 5-1 to sweep the two-game set. In the series, the Beavers outscored their opponent 10-3.
This series against Ohio University is the second two-game series between these two teams this season. Back on Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, the Beavers hosted Ohio University for a two-game series. In game one, Ohio came away with a 1-2 victory in overtime. In game two, Minot State came away with a 4-2 victory. This weekend's match-up between the #1 and #3 ranked teams is set to be a fun series to watch.
