MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's wrestling team is ready to compete in the NCWWC Region 8 Tournament, hosted by Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. With national championship berths on the line, the Beavers are eager to showcase their talent and fight for spots at the next level.
Leading the team are returning national qualifiers 
Nina Sandoval (180) and 
Haleigh Lematta (145). Sandoval, holding a 10-4 record, is ranked No. 3 in Region 8 and recently made history as the first-ever Minot State women's wrestler to earn a national ranking, coming in at No. 18 in OpenMat's national poll. Lematta (11-10) is also looking to secure her second consecutive trip to nationals after qualifying in 2023.
Another standout competitor is 
Madilyn Schuck (207), who boasts a 16-7 record and holds a No. 5 ranking in Region 8. She will look to join her teammates in punching a ticket to the NCWWC National Championships.
Minot State's full roster for the tournament includes:
