O'FALLON, IL - The Minot State Beavers women's hockey team is moving on to the WMCH Conference Tournament final with a 3-2 victory over Maryville University in the semi-final on Friday, February 21. With a victory over the University of Jamestown, the Beavers will be matching-up against Liberty University in the final on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 pm in O'Fallon, Illinois.

Maryville was the first team on the board, scoring a goal 5 minutes into the first period, to take a 0-1 lead. At 15 minutes into the period, Maryville scored their second goal of the game to take a 0-2 lead. Before the first period ended, the Beavers cut Maryville's lead down to 1-2 on a power play goal scored by Olivia Opheim. 

Both teams were held scoreless throughout the second period to take a 1-2 score into the third period. 

Just over a minute into the third period, Minot State tied the game at 2-2 on a goal scored by Liberty Miller. With 13:45 left in the third period, the Beavers took a 3-2 lead on a goal scored by Paige Kozak. Minot State's goalie, Jillian Ackerman, held Maryville scoreless for the remainder of the period to secure the 3-2 victory for the Beavers. 

Abby Pineau, Kaitlyn Snyder, Makena Welby, and Journey Miller were credited with assists in the game. Jillian Ackerman led the way in goal for the Beavers to secure the 3-2 victory, improving her record to 11-1-0. 

Following the WMCH Conference Tournament semi-final victory over Maryville University, the Beavers will be back in action in the WMCH Conference Tournament final against Liberty University on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 pm in O'Fallon, Illinois.
