O'FALLON, IL - The Minot State Beavers women's hockey team is moving on to the WMCH Conference Tournament final with a 3-2 victory over Maryville University in the semi-final on Friday, February 21. With a victory over the University of Jamestown, the Beavers will be matching-up against Liberty University in the final on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 pm in O'Fallon, Illinois.
Maryville was the first team on the board, scoring a goal 5 minutes into the first period, to take a 0-1 lead. At 15 minutes into the period, Maryville scored their second goal of the game to take a 0-2 lead. Before the first period ended, the Beavers cut Maryville's lead down to 1-2 on a power play goal scored by
Olivia Opheim.
Both teams were held scoreless throughout the second period to take a 1-2 score into the third period.
Just over a minute into the third period, Minot State tied the game at 2-2 on a goal scored by
Liberty Miller. With 13:45 left in the third period, the Beavers took a 3-2 lead on a goal scored by
Paige Kozak. Minot State's goalie,
Jillian Ackerman, held Maryville scoreless for the remainder of the period to secure the 3-2 victory for the Beavers.

Journey Miller were credited with assists in the game.
Jillian Ackerman led the way in goal for the Beavers to secure the 3-2 victory, improving her record to 11-1-0.
Following the WMCH Conference Tournament semi-final victory over Maryville University, the Beavers will be back in action in the WMCH Conference Tournament final against Liberty University on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 pm in O'Fallon, Illinois.
