The Beavers were trailing 2-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Riddle put Minot State on the board with a
leadoff home run off junior Drew Ball.
The Beavers kept the Vikings off the board before taking the lead in the second. Minot State scored twice on Riddle's two-run homer, which brought the Beavers lead to 3-2 after two innings.
Minot State's lead had evaporated by the time the fourth inning arrived and turned into a 5-3 Augustana advantage, when the Beavers cut that deficit to 5-4 ion an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Riddle in the bottom of the fourth. The Beavers were unable to get any closer, as
Augustana added two runs to their tally on the way to a 7-4 final.
