Minot State wrestling is set for a busy and competitive weekend as both the men's and women's programs prepare for key duals against familiar opponents. The women will travel to Jamestown for a Sunday afternoon match up, while the men face a pair of challenging duals against nationally ranked competition on Friday and Saturday.
The Minot State men's wrestling team opens its weekend Friday night with a 7 p.m. dual against No. 3-ranked Parkside. The Beavers are still seeking their first win in the all-time series against the Rangers, who are wrestling-only members on the NSIC and feature several nationally ranked individuals throughout the lineup. Parkside features top-ranked wrestlers at multiple weights, including No. 2 Shane Corrigan at 125 and No. 1 Jalen Spuhler at 149, presenting a tough early test for the Beavers. Minot State will counter with a lineup highlighted by
Gavin Turk (13-6) at 174,
Shafer Ehmke (11-7) at 197, and
Cole Faircloth (11-8) at 125, as they look to compete position by position against one of the nation's top teams.
The men will wrap up the weekend Sunday at 2 p.m. with a road dual against Minnesota State, Mankato. Despite limited success historically against the Mavericks, the Beavers have won their last two trips to Mankato, accounting for their only two victories in the series. Minnesota State features multiple nationally ranked wrestlers, including Walker Bents at 149 and Drake Hayward at 174, setting up another demanding match up. Minot State will look to build off recent road success and carry momentum from Friday's dual into Sunday's contest as the team continues its push through the heart of the season.

The Minot State women's wrestling team will take the mat Saturday at 3 p.m. in Jamestown, continuing a closely contested all-time series between the two programs. The Beavers are 4-4 against Jamestown historically and already hold a 1-0 victory over the Jimmies earlier this season. The lineup is led by several experienced competitors, including
Haleigh Lematta at 145 pounds, who enters the weekend with a 17-4 record, and
Alyssa Jones at 131, who has posted a strong 20-6 mark this season.
