Minot State Men's Wrestling returns to the home mat as the Beavers host Southwest Minnesota State in a NSIC dual scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Minot State Dome. Competing in front of a home crowd, Minot State will look to build momentum and establish control early against a tough SMSU lineup in what should be a competitive conference match up.
The Beavers are projected to open the dual at 125 pounds with
Austin Garcia, followed by
Cole Faircloth at 133 and
Ethan Wonser at 141. At 149, Minot State could see
Robert Salehi or
Brayden Guerrero.
Roman Leifridt is set to take the mat at 157, while
Daniels Bendiks will represent the Beavers at 165 as the middle of the lineup looks to provide key scoring opportunities.
In the upper weights, Minot State is expected to feature either
Gavin Turk or Mario Garcia at 174.
Payton Wayman anchors the lineup at 184, followed by
Shafer Ehmke at 197. Heavyweight
Braxton Rance is set to close out the dual at 285, bringing size and strength to the final bout of the afternoon.
With a balanced lineup and the advantage of wrestling at home, the Beavers aim to set the tone early and feed off home energy as they square off with the Mustangs.
