Minot State Women's Wrestling will be back on the road this weekend, traveling to compete in the Chadron State Duals on Friday for a full day of dual competition. The Beavers will open the action with a 1 p.m. match up against Hastings College, followed by a 2 p.m. dual versus Texas Women's University, and closing the day at 3 p.m. against Trinidad State Junior College. With three matches scheduled in one afternoon, Minot State will be tested on depth, consistency, and resilience as they take on a mix of NAIA, NCAA, and junior college competition away from home.
Following Friday's duals, Minot State will return to the mat on Saturday to compete in the Chadron State Open. The Beavers' projected lineup features a blend of experienced returners and developing wrestlers across the weights.
Kaiya Lopes (3-7) is slated to compete at 103 pounds, while
Alexa Garcia (0-3) is projected at 110. The 117-pound weight class remains open, offering an opportunity for lineup flexibility. At 124 and 131 pounds, Minot State expects to either rely on
Alyssa Jones (16-5), one of the team's most proven competitors, or
Skye Shelmerdine (7-10), giving the Beavers strong options in the middle weights. Pua Beebe (10-8) is projected at 138, followed by
Haleigh Lematta (13-2) at 145, who enters the weekend as one of the team's top performers.
In the upper weights,
Madison Parson (0-9) is projected at 160 as she continues to gain valuable mat experience, while Lilly Garrett (4-3) anchors the 180-pound class. At 207 pounds,
Aniya Herbin (14-6) provides a strong presence to close out the lineup, bringing consistency and scoring potential in the heavyweight division as Minot State looks to gain valuable experience and momentum during Saturday's open competition.
