MINOT, N.D. – Coming off a 6-1 victory over the University of Mary on Wednesday night, the Minot State men's hockey team returns to Maysa Arena for a two-game series against Drury University on Friday and Saturday.
The Beavers enter the weekend with a 9-0-1-1 record and look to continue their strong start against a physical and talented Drury squad. The Panthers won their first four games of the season before facing Minot State in a two-game series earlier in October.
The teams last met in Missouri, where the Beavers fell 3-2 in overtime in the series opener before bouncing back with a 6-4 victory in the second game. Minot State will look to build on that split and earn another series victory on home ice.
Leading the Beavers offensively is Colby Joseph, who has recorded seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 11 games. Joey Moffatt has tallied 16 goals in 10 games, while Matthew Yakubowski has added 13 goals in 11 appearances.
Trenton Curtis and Walker Jerome have each contributed five goals and four assists. Sean Williams has recorded six points in 10 games, while Trentyn Crane, Ty Plaisier and Christian Kadolph have each added five points in 10 games.
Minot State has also benefited from a well-rounded goaltending rotation. Jase Wareham has started five games and holds an undefeated 5-0 record, with a .907 save percentage, a 2.00 goals-against average and one shutout. Blake Sittler has posted a 2.71 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage in four games, while Will Dyke has recorded a 2.88 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in two appearances.
The Beavers will look to carry their momentum into the weekend as they face a familiar opponent in Drury, with an opportunity to strengthen their early-season record and defend home ice.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at Maysa Arena. Fans attending Saturday's Halloween matchup in costume will receive free admission.
