MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State Women's Soccer team faces a split NSIC weekend, traveling to Northern State University on Friday, October 9, at 5:30 p.m. before returning home to host the University of Jamestown on Sunday, October 11, at 1 p.m. at First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium.
Minot State enters the weekend with a 2-7-2 overall record and 1-5-2 mark in NSIC play after falling 2-0 at Wayne State on Friday before playing Augustana to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
The Beavers faced Wayne State on Friday, falling behind 2-0 at halftime before keeping the Wildcats scoreless throughout the second half. Goalkeeper Rebecca Sargent recorded four saves, while Minot State registered nine shots, including five on goal.
Minot State battled Augustana to a 1-1 draw Sunday at Morstad Field. Jayva McKibben put the Beavers on the board in the 27th minute for her first collegiate goal, with Iliana Rivera providing the assist. Augustana answered in the 77th minute with a goal to tie the game.
Sargent made nine saves against the Vikings, helping the Beavers secure a point in the NSIC standings.
Minot State opens the weekend Friday on the road against Northern State before returning to Herb Parker Stadium Sunday to host Jamestown. The Beavers will look to carry the momentum from Sunday's draw into another pair of NSIC contests.
