The Minot State Beavers fell 12-43 in dual action against Augustana Vikings on Friday night. Despite the final team score, the Beavers saw strong performances from
Cole Faircloth and
Ethan Wonser, who each secured victories to put points on the board for Minot State.
At 133 pounds, Faircloth delivered an exciting performance, earning a fall over Braiden Kort at the 3:34 mark to give the Beavers an early spark. His pin accounted for six team points and energized the home crowd. Shortly after, Wonser added to Minot State's total at 141 pounds, winning by injury default just 1:30 into his match against Alex Mentzer. The quick result added another six points and kept momentum on the Beavers' side early in the dual.
Augustana proved strong across the remaining weight classes, collecting bonus-point victories in several matches to widen the team gap. The Vikings capitalized with multiple falls and technical falls throughout the middle and upper weights to secure the 43-12 team victory.
