The Minot State Women's Wrestling team delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, defeating the University of Jamestwon 37-6 in a home dual that showcased depth, aggressiveness, and control across the lineup. The Beavers set the tone early and never let up, winning nine of the ten contest bouts and securing bonus points in several key matches.
Minot State opened the dual strong with forfeits at 103 and 117 pounds, earning early momentum behind
Kaiya Lopes and Alexia Garcia.
Skye Shelmerdine added to the surge at 124 pounds, pinning Jamestown's Kiera Hagman in just 32 seconds. At 131 pounds, Lovey Beebe continued the Beavers' offensive rhythm with a technical fall victory, while
Emily Light and
Madison Parson each picked up forfeit wins at 138 and 160 pounds to further extend the team lead.
The Beavers also found success in tightly contested bouts, including an 8-0 decision by
Haleigh Lematta at 145 pounds. Jamestown earned its lone win of the day at 180 pounds, where Emily Novak secured a fall over
Madilyn Schuck. Minot State closed the dual in emphatic fashion at 207 pounds, as
Aniya Herbin sealed the team victory with a fall late in the match.
