ELKHORN, Neb. --Redshirt Junior Colton Bagshaw was dominant on Saturday, fanning eight Minnesota State hitters over 4.2 innings of work, but it was not enough as the Minot State Beavers lost to the Mavericks 13-2.
In addition to his eight strikeouts, Bagshaw (1-3) threw 4.2 innings, giving up six runs, all of them earned, on eight hits and walking one for Minot State (15-6, ).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Senior Noah Madas came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minot State and get them on the board.
The Beavers lost the lead they built in the second, but got back on the board in the fifth trailing 2-1. Minot State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of junior Vinnie Gates, which evened the score at 2-2. Minnesota State then scored 11 times over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 13-2 win.
