2021 Season (Junior Year)
Pitched in 9 games, staring 8… Won 3 games and had a 7.83 ERA in 33 1/3 innings with 26 strikeouts… Held opponents to .320 batting average.

2020 Season (Junior)
Named to VP Academic Affairs Honor Roll... Made three appearances, all starts, during a shortened season, tossing 16.1 innings and recording a 3.86 ERA prior to the cancellation of remaining games... Tossed 7.0 complete-game shutout on Feb. 22 at Missouri Western as the Beavers came away with an 11-0 win... Struck out seven batters, allowed four hits in his first victory of the season to improve his record to 2-0 at that point... The Beavers outscored opponents 29-14 during Newman's appearances including a 13-10 win over Colorado Mesa on Feb. 29 and the previously mentioned 11-0 over Missouri Western... Tossed 244 total pitches, averaging just over 81 pitches per game and delivering more than 4.0 innings in each appearance. 

2019 Season (Sophomore)
Made 11 appearances including 10 starts... Posted a 5-2 record with a 3.71 ERA (53.1 IP, 22 ER) with 49 strikeouts... Held opponents to a .227 batting average... Tossed season-high 7.2 innings at SW Minnesota State on Apr. 19... Earned his fourth victory of the season in that game to improve his record to 4-0... He did not allow an earned run, walked one batter and struck four as he faced 28 and retired 24 of them... Aaron Kern, Aaron Bernal, and Jack Gamba combined to close out the final 1.1 innings for a 5-2 victory at Corbett Field... The left has made 16 combined appearances between his first two seasons including 69.1 total innings with 62 strikeouts during his first two seasons with the Beavers. 

2018 Season (First Year)
Made five appearances with four starts... Posted an 0-2 record and a 7.31 earned run average...Worked 16.0 innings on the season... Struck out 13 batters... Pitched 5.0 innings against Upper Iowa (4/29) and allowed three hits, no runs and struck out four... Worked 5.0 innings against Sioux Falls (4/21) and struck out a season-high five batters.
