RETURN TO LEARN ZONES

Zone 1: No Class Attendance, No Academic Work

The student should currently be resting both cognitively and physically at home and has been instructed to not attend classes and avoid all academic work. Upon the student’s return to class, the student may not have all assignments up to date and may need to reduce the pace or quantity of work for several days. The student will be in touch with professors to make arrangements for missed or late assignments.

Zone 2: Limited Class Attendance, Limited Academic Work

  • Short breaks during class (2-5 minutes)
  • Moderate amounts of academic work/testing
  • Emphasis on formative rather than summative assessments
  • Schedule for completing assignments

Zone 4: Attend All Classes, Complete Academic Work, Possible Modifications
