Jake Skala graduated from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in History. Skala was the Facilities Manager and Hitting Coach for the Johansen Baseball team in South Elgin, Illinois from Jan. 2020 to May 2020.
His responsibilities included taking care of the facility and coming up with creative solutions to any problems as well as managing the schedules of other coaches. Skala was the main point of contact for new/prospective clients.
Skala was a hitting coach and data technician from December 2018 to May 2020. He helped players improve their hitting skills and communicated the use of new technologies to players in an effective, individualized manner. Skala programed players development plans based on individual assessments and collaborated with other coaches to provide a unified approach with athletes.
From Dec. 2019 to just before coming to Minot, he was the Head Coach of Illinois Travel Baseball which helped players train during the offseason and assisted athletes with the mental aspects of baseball.
He played baseball at Cornerstone University from August 2014 to January 2016.
Skala is from Geneva, Illinois and holds USA Baseball A, B, & C Coaching Certifications.
