Greggmar Swift

Coach Swift took over leadership of the Minot State track and field program in the summer of 2022 after spending 3 1/2 seasons as a coach and instructor at Merritt College in California.

Swift was an assistant track and field coach for the Thunderbirds, was Merritt College's head women’s soccer coach, and a Kinesiology instructor at the school in Oakland.

Prior to coaching and teaching in California, Swift spent two years as Vice Chairman of the Olympic Athletes Commission in his native country, Barbados, and also served as an assistant coach for track and field for four seasons at Indiana State, his alma mater.

A 2012 Olympian who competed for his native country, Barbados, at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in the 110-meter hurdles, Coach Swift also competed at the 2013 World Championships in that event in Moscow, Russia, and twice finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Pan America Games (in 2015 in Toronto, Canada and again in 2019 in Lima, Peru.

Coach swift also is a five-time NCAA Division  I All-American and holds the Barbados national record in the indoor 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.65 seconds.

Swift earned his Bachelor's in Insurance and Risk Management from Indiana State and his Master of Physical Education from Ball State. He also holds a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification and an International Level Coaching Certification.
