Ashley Lanz-Gilstad

Ashley Lanz-Gilstad begins her first season as an assistant softball coach and will serve as the team’s pitching coach. Lanz-Gilstad has helped with the Minot State softball program as an assistant twice in the past and has served as a volunteer coach, working with the pitching staff.

She has an extensive resume both as a player and a coach, pitching for the Beavers in 2003-2004. She earned First-Team All-Conference and All-Region for MSU and was an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention in 2004.

From there, she transferred to Simon Fraser (British Columbia) and earned First-Team NAIA All-American and Pitcher of the Year honors in 2005. Lanz-Gilstad also played for the Canadian National Softball Team in 2005, attending the Pan Am Qualifier in Guatemala and won a silver medal at the Pan American Games with Team Canada in 2011.

Lanz-Gilstad, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, has played professional softball in Italy and the Netherlands and has been on the MSU coaching staff twice previous. This past season, she coached the Mohall U14 team, worked with Minot State’s pitchers and coached at Ramstad Middle School.
