Gill Woodward enters her first season as a Graduate Assistant with the Minot State University softball program.
Woodward is a graduate of the University of South Dakota that earned her degree in philosophy and political science. She made 61 appearances over four seasons including 12 starts in the circle while posting a 5.30-career ERA. Woodward posted a 5-9 career record after tossing 132.0 total innings with 52 strikeouts.
The Ile-des-Chenes, Manitoba, Canada native made the Summit League honor roll, was named to the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence during her junior season. During her sophomore year, Woodward earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, made the Summit League honor roll, and was named to the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence and during her first year with the Coyotes was named to the Summit League Honor Roll.
During her prep years she was named 2014 Athlete of the Year for Ecole Regional Gabrielle Roy. Held a 0.89 ERA (70.0 IP) for the Lightning in 2015 and hit .456 (31-68) with 10 doubles, 20 RBI during the 2016 season. Woodward scored the winning run on the 2016 U18 Western Canadian Championship team and led Manitoba to a fifth-place finish at the 2017 Canada Games.
