Vanessa Grimstad is entering her second season as an assistant student coach of the Women's Hockey program. Grimstad helped lead the Beavers to a 22-7-2 record in her first year with the hockey club. 
Grimstad was born in Cold Lake, Alberta, but grew up in White City, Saskatchewan. She played AAA hockey for the Melville Prairie Fire.

Grimstad played collegiately at Minot State University as a forward from 2015-2019. She is second all-time at Minot State University in points scored. She also received numerous All-American awards during her playing days.
Vanessa received her Bachelor of Science degree from Minot State University in Communication Disorders/Speech Pathology and is currently working on obtaining her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders at Minot State.
Grimstad resides in Minot, North Dakota.
