Tyler Schochenmaier is in his fourth year coaching at Minot State University. Previously, Schochenmaier was coaching high school, club, and private goalkeeping sessions in Pensacola, Fla.
In 2017, Schochenmaier was part of the staff that led the Beavers to a 12-5-2 overall record and an 11-3-1 record in NSIC play. Following the season, Minot State tied the school record with seven players being named to the All-NSIC team.
He helped MSU achieve another milestone in 2016 as the Beavers captured the 2016 NSIC Championship going 14-0-1 to earn the school's first-ever NSIC regular season title. MSU tied its team record from the season before with 16 wins, going 16-3-1 overall. The Beavers qualified for its third NCAA Division II National Tournament and it second straight appearances in the NCAA Central Region.
The Beavers had seven individuals earn All-NSIC including Erin Rafferty who was named NSIC Freshman & Goalkeeper of the Year. Minot State led the Northern Sun in goals allowed with just 13.
In 2015, he helped coach the Beavers to a 16-5-1 record and a third place finish in the conference standings in 2015. MSU ranked fourth in goals allowed (17) and shutouts (10) in the NSIC.
In his first year with the Minot State, Schochenmaier helped the Beavers to the top of the conference in goals allowed. The Beavers only allowed 17 goals on the season making there goals per game a stellar .89 goals per game.
In two seasons at Pensacola Catholic High School he helped the team earn a spot in the 2014 Florida Final Four, and in 2013, a birth in the Florida Elite Eight. He also coached youth soccer as the staff goalkeeping coach at Bayside Dynamo FC in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Along with his youth soccer and high school soccer experience, Schochenmaier assisted with Pensacola City FC, a men’s semi-pro team of the National Premier Soccer League. He was responsible for developing the tryout, training, and evaluations for the goalkeepers as well as the evaluation of field players.
Prior to moving to Florida, Schochenmaier coached at Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Iowa, for two seasons serving as the head freshmen boys soccer coach and an assistant for the varsity program. The team advanced to the state final in two consecutive years (2011, 2012).
Schochenmaier started his coaching career with Norwalk Soccer Club in Iowa.
He graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and his master’s degree in Transportation and Logistics Management. Schochenmaier is a commissioned officer in the United State Air Force and is stationed at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.
He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation National “C” Coaching License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeping III Diploma and Coerver Youth Diploma.
