Roman Waldera

Roman Waldera is in his second season as an assistant track and field coach. He will work mainly with the throwers.

Waldera helped Minot State throwers to a solid season in 2017, including working with MSU junior thrower Tanner Gust who ended the season fourth in the hammer throw at the 2017 NSIC Outdoor Championships. Gust broke the school record in the hammer twice during the season including a final time at the championships.

In his final year at the University of North Dakota track and field team, Waldera was an all-conference player in discus and placed 42nd in the 2015 NCAA Division I national preliminary round.

Waldera also competed in the hammer throw and weight throw in his time at UND. In 2012 he won the Great West conference championship in discuss.

A Minot native, Waldera earned his bachelor degree in kinesiology and physical education from UND and is working on his Masters in management at Minot State.
