The son of head coach Ian Shields, Beau joined the Beaver staff in the winter of 2025 after two seasons playing on the defensive line for Minot State.
Coach Shields finished his Minot State career with 15 tackles, including 1 1/2 sacks, in 17 games.
Prior to his time with the Beavers, he played two seasons as a fullback and defensive lineman for Eastern Oregon. He started his collegiate career as a redshirt at Southern Arkansas in the fall of 2021.
