Coach Skyler Cavanaugh joined the Minot State football staff in the spring of 2024 as the teams' tight ends coach after most recently spending two seasons as an offensive line graduate assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State, an NCAA Division I FCS program.
Prior to his two season at Southeast Missouri State, Coach Cavanaugh spent the 2022 off-season as an graduate assistant coach for tight ends at Western New Mexico, an NCAA Division II program.
Coach Cavanaught played five seasons for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits as a tight end, qualifying for the FCS playoffs all five seasons and advancing to the national championship game in 2020. Named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll from 2019-2021, he received his Bachelor's in Physical Education from SDSU and is currently finishing his Masters in Secondary Education at Southeast Missouri State.
