Beavers swept at Black Hills State

MSU can't keep momentum going on the road

MSU's Jenna Moffatt digs a ball during Saturday's match at Black Hills State.
SPEARFISH, S.D. – Minot State University couldn't capitalize on Friday's momentum as Black Hills State swept the Beavers 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) in Dakota Athletic Conference volleyball Donald E. Young Center.
MSU earned a big 3-1 win at South Dakota Mines Friday in Rapid City, S.D., but came out flat-footed as the Yellow Jackets took advantage of early mistakes.
The Beavers struggled with 12 attack errors in game 1. BHSU, meanwhile, only had four in game 1 and four in game 2. MSU finished with 34 attack errors throughout the match.
MSU finished with more kills overall in the three games, 36-31. Leading the way for MSU was Jen Dixon (Fr., OH, Brandon, Manitoba), who finished with a match-high 11 kills.
The Yellow Jackets spread the wealth around on offense with Kylee Lamb and Maggie O'Neill hitting eight kills each. Alisyn Graesser added five kills and Kayla Drieling finished with four.
Abbey Aide (So., Setter, Bottineau, N.D.) finished with 34 assists for the Beavers and Jenna Moffatt (Fr., Libero, Brandon, Manitoba) added 20 digs to lead the defense. Janice Rose Reinbolt (Jr., MH, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan) added seven kills to the Beavers' offense.
MSU is back on the road next week as they travel to Mayville State and Dakota State for a pair of DAC contests.
