The
Minot State
Football team will aim for its first win of the season when the team opens DAC conference play on Saturday hosting
Mayville State. The Beavers had a week off after dropping games to
NCAA division two opponents Bemidji State and St. Paul-Concordia.
Head coach Paul Rudolph says the week break has allowed his team to heal up and he says the Comets should be an improved team over last year with a number of players returning.
Paul Rudolph,
MSU Football Coach:Well they got some similarities to what they had a year ago. They got a coaching staff that stayed in tact and they got quite a few players back from a year ago. I would expect we'd see a much improved ballclub. We gotta play as well as we can at home and conference opener as you stated we gotta play well and we're certainly looking forward to it.
Tyson Schatz, junior:Having a whole week off was good for us because we could just have a whole week of just working on everything we needed to get better at and just kind of improve on everything that we thought we needed to work on through the bye week. We got a week where we could prepare for this next game so it's kind of nice.
Game time on Saturday is at 1:30 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.
