BISMARCK, N.D. – The Minot State University volleyball team fell in three sets on the road against the University of Mary Tuesday evening.
Set one was full of excitement as the Beavers climbed back into the game after trailing by six points to tie the game at 24 apiece. The Marauders ended up taking that set 31-29, but MSU showed that it wouldn't go down without a fight.
"I thought we were flying high," said head coach Ben Kaszeta. "I thought we would come out in game two on fire and instead we came out flat. It's hard to air it back up once you let the air out of the balloon."
In the next two sets the Beavers fell 25-13 and 25-12 as the Marauders were able to take advantage on five aces and nine blocks.
MSU was led by Bileigh Boyce and Emily Falldorf with five kills each while three others recorded four. Janelle Nagy recorded 18 assists while Cindy Pelo dug nine balls.
Minot State will host two games this weekend with Sioux Falls on Friday, September 23 at 7 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, September 24 at 3 p.m.
