MINOT, N.D. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Erin Rafferty broke the single-season record at Minot State for shutouts in a season while recording her eighth shutout of the year in a 1-0 victory versus Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon at Herb Parker Stadium.
The win improves Minot State to 10-4-1 (9-3 NSIC) on the season while Golden Bears drop to 9-5-1 (7-4-1 NSIC). The Beavers extended their current winning streak to seven straight with the win, which ties for the second longest winning streak in school history.

Sofia Lewis broke the scoreless tie in the 87
th minute, scoring her NSIC-leading 11
th goal of the season off an assist from
Kelli Creese on the free kick. Lewis' shot snuck past the goalkeeper and dribbled into the goal before a second Golden Bear defender could run it down.
Concordia-St. Paul recorded a 9-8 advantage in shots, including three shots that hit the cross bar while the Beavers finished with a 5-2 lead in corner kicks.
Rafferty improved 10-4-1 on the season in the record-breaking shutout and notched three saves in the win.
With the victory, Minot State secured a berth in the upcoming NSIC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season. The top four teams in the conference standings will host a postseason tournament match on Nov. 1 and the Beavers are currently fourth.
