Minot State Basketball Teams to Host Exhibition Games at 4 Bears Casino & Lodge

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State men's and women's basketball teams will host an exhibition doubleheader versus Dickinson State on Oct. 25 at the brand new Event Center inside 4 Bears Casino & Lodge in New Town, N.D. announced MSU Director of Athletics Andy Carter.

"We are the NCAA Division II institution in the state of North Dakota," said Carter. "We have alumni and fans throughout the state and this provides us an opportunity to connect with them away from our campus.

"We are thrilled to grow our partnership with 4 Bears Casino & Lodge and the opportunity to showcase our basketball teams in their new Event Center will be rewarding for the Beaver fan base and our student-athletes."

The exhibition games, which were originally scheduled to be played at Dickinson State, will feature the women's game at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase our Event Center," said Dave Bren, Marketing Director at 4 Bears Casino & Lodge. "We encourage the Minot State fans to spend the night after the games and enjoy a meal inside Bison Room Steakhouse or at the Cache Buffet. Our hotel also offers an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and exercise room. And of course, we offer all of the gaming options, in a smoke free atmosphere."

In addition to the doubleheader, the Minot State basketball programs will be conducting a free clinic for area youth earlier in the day.

The Minot State men's basketball team will open the season on Oct. 23 with an exhibition game at Valley City State University and then host Dickinson State on Oct. 25. The exhibition game against Dickinson State will mark the season opener for the Beavers women's basketball program.

The new Event Center seats 1,600 fans and another 360 fans can view the action from the 18 suites.

Admission for the doubleheader will be free of charge. More information regarding 4 Bears Casino & Lodge can be found on its website at www.4bearscasino.com
