MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's soccer team defeated the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles 8-0 on Friday night at Herb Parker Stadium, tying the second-most goals total in school history.
The Beavers improved to 3-3-1 (2-2-0 NSIC) on the season while the Golden Eagles fell to 0-6-0 (0-4 NSIC).
Junior
Haley Berryman took the pass from
Andrea Franco and gave Minot State an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute.
Freshman
Sofia Lewis scored her fourth goal of the season from 17 yards out in the 12
th minute.
Junior
Sydnee Canales ended the scoring for the Beavers in the first half, finding the net from 15 yards out on the left side.
Andrea Franco tapped in a shot from seven yards out, off the pass from
Morgan Myers and
Ashley Franco, giving the Beavers a 4-0 lead.
Autumne Haskell received the pass from
Jordyn Cook and scored from 15 yards out. In the 70
th minute,
Daniela Fonseca scored her first goal of the season from 30 yards out.
Jordyn Cook followed shortly after in the 71
st minute, firing a blast from 35 yards out.
Maritssa Perez wrapped up the scoring for the Beavers in the 90
th minute.
Minot State held a 27-2 advantage in shots over the Golden Eagles.
Minnesota Crookston's Vanessa Shelton was assessed a yellow card in the 24
th minute.
