MINOT, N.D. -- Sophomore Mackenzie Froehlich recorded a career-high 17 assists and tied her season high with a kill, but Minot State dropped a 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match to Sioux Falls on Saturday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shelby Spuller posted six kills and Emily Falldorf added four kills, but Sioux Falls hit .361 and broke a 23-23 deadlock with two straight points to claim a 25-23 win in the first set
• Mackenzie Froehlich had 10 assists and led a big Beavers comeback in the second set, but the Cougars held on for a 25-16 win
• Sioux Falls wrapped up the match with a 25-17 win in the third set behind a .500 hitting percentage
