Spuller Records 15 Kills at Augustana

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Junior Shelby Spuller recorded 15 kills and five digs and Kelsey Dewulf had 34 assists and six digs, but Minot State lost to Augustana 25-16, 25-20, 25-22 on Friday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match in the Elmen Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Augustana broke a 14-14 tie with a 5-0 run on its way to a 25-16 win in the first set, while Shelby Spuller had five kills and a .571 attack percentage in the first set for the Beavers
  • Augustana won the second set 25-20 on the strength of a .286 hitting percentage, while Shelby Spuller had four kills and Emily Falldorf had three kills and a .429 attack percentage
  • Augustana closed the third set on a 3-0 run after overcoming a four-point deficit earlier in the set to defeat the Beavers 25-22
BEAVER TRACKS
  • Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 15 kills, which marked her 20th double-figure kill match of the season
  • Karli Koza reached double figures in digs for the 24th time this season with a team-high 16
  • Emily Falldorf had seven kills, three blocks and two service aces
