KEARNEY, Neb. -- Senior Kelsey Dewulf recorded 21 assists, four digs, a kill and a block leading Minot State to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-11 victory over Newman in the Beavers opening match of the Rosella Meier Tournament on Friday in the H&S Center on the campus of Nebraska Kearney.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shelby Spuller recorded five kills and Kelsey Dewulf had eight assists as Minot State took a 1-0 lead with a 25-13 win in the first set
• Minot State took a 2-0 lead with a 25-16 win in the second set as Emily Falldorf led the way with three kills, while Nicole Wondrasek and Shelby Spuller each had two kills
• Minot State finished off the sweep of Newman by winning the third set 25-11. Shelby Suller, Emily Falldorf and Kayla Verity each had two kills for the Beavers

• Shelby Spuller led Minot State with nine kills
• Emily Falldorf tallied seven kills and led the Beavers with four blocks
• Mekayla Gurley had four service aces and 10 digs
• Karli Koza notched a team-high 14 digs and also had two assists and a service ace
