MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State volleyball team will travel to Mary on Tuesday (Sept. 11) in search of its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win of the season at 7 p.m. in the McDowell Activity Center.
Minot State enters the match with a 5-5 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the NSIC, while Mary is 3-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.
The Beavers dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 3 Northern State on Saturday, but pushed the nationally-ranked Wolves. Minot State held a lead for much of the first set and won the third set becoming just the second team this season to win a set against Northern State.
Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 13 kills, while
Emily Falldorf had 10 kills for Minot State.
Spuller leads the Beavers, and is ranked sixth in the NSIC, averaging 3.63 kills per set. She has reached double figures in kills in seven of Minot State's 10 matches this year.
Sophomore
Karli Koza is ranked third in the NSIC averaging 4.79 digs per set and has reached double figures in digs in all 10 matches played.
Mary defeated Minot State 3-1 in Minot and posted a 3-0 win over the Beavers in Bismarck last season.
