MINOT, N.D. -- Jordyn Cook scored with 2:09 remaining in regulation lifting Minot State to a 3-2 victory over Mary in both team's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener on Tuesday in Herb Parker Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Mary took an early 1-0 lead when Tiffany Ohlhauser scored in the fourth minute giving the Marauders an early lead
• Sofia Lewis knotted the match at 1-1 with a left win laser as she drilled home a shot from 30 yards out
• Mary regained the lead at the 19:22 mark of the first when Caylin Cathey took a feed from Jade Smith and scored for a 2-1 lead
• Sofia Lewis registered her second goal of the match when she tapped in a cross from Haley Berryman to tie the match at 2-2
• Jordyn Cook scored the game-winning goal with 2:09 to play when she took a feed from Audrey Wilson and Morgan Myers-Buttacavoli and beat the keeper for the win

BEAVER TRACKS

• Sofia Lewis scored a pair of goals for the Beavers, which upped her team-leading total to six
• Jordyn Cook notched her first goal of the season for Minot State
• Andrea Franco and Sofia Lewis led the Beavers with two shots each
• Haley Berryman and Morgan Myers-Buttacavoli picked up assists for the Beavers
• Erin Rafferty improved to 3-0-1 on the season by making three saves in goal

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State opened NSIC play with a victory and stayed unbeaten on the season as the Beavers improved to 3-0-1 overall and 1-0 in the NSIC
• After being outshot 6-4 in the first period, the Beavers outshot the Marauders 4-2 in the second period
• Minot State kept the pressure on in the second period as the Beavers had six corner kicks
• Each team finished the match with eight shots
