MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State volleyball team will travel to Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State this weekend for Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers will meet the Golden Eagles on Friday (Sept. 21) at 6 p.m. and them square off with Bemidji State on Saturday (Sept. 22) at 3 p.m.
Minot State is currently 7-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play and are coming off a 3-0 sweep of Dickinson State on Tuesday in the Minot State Dome.
Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 14 kills in the victory, while
Emily Falldorf and
Jeanne Brenner each had nine kills. Spuller posted a .444 attack percentage, while Falldorf hit .333 and Brenner hit .318 as Minot State recorded a season-best .364 attack percentage in the win over the Blue Hawks.
Spuller leads the Beavers with 189 kills and is averaging 3.71 kills per set, while Falldorf ranks second on the team averaging 2.04 kills per set and Brenner is averaging 1.90 kills per set. Spuller's 3.71 kills per set currently ranks seventh in the NSIC.
Karli Koza leads Minot State with 249 digs and is ranked third in the conference averaging 4.88 digs per set.
Mekayla Gurley is second on the team averaging 2.14 digs per set, while
Kelsey Dewulf is third averaging 1.82 per set.
Dewulf is ranked eighth in the NSIC averaging 9.86 assists per set and the Beavers have improved their attack percentage in each of the last three matches capped by the .364 percentage against Dickinson State on Tuesday.
Falldorf and
Hayley Swain continue to pace the Beavers in blocking as Falldorf tops the team with a 0.84 per set average and Swain is averaging 0.55 per set.
Minnesota Crookston is 2-11 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC and has dropped eight straight matches, while Bemidji State is 4-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
