Beaver-Dragon Football Clash Set for Saturday Afternoon

(MINOT, N.D.) -- The Minot State University football team looks to bounce back this week at home. The Beavers will take on MSU Moorhead Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.  
 
 
 Series History
   
 vs. MSU Moorhead 
  • In a series that goes back to 1930, the Beavers are 4-10.
  • The Dragons were victorious in the first matchup by a score of 4-0.
  • MSU Moorhead has won six straight matchups.
  • The last time the Beavers won was 2012, where they were victorious by a score of 31-10.

  • Offensively, the Beavers are averaging 17.4 points per game.
  • Minot State's offense is fifth in the NSIC in rushing yards with 159.9 per game. 
  • Freshman running back Ali Mohamed leads Minot State in rushing yards and is fifth in the conference in total yards and sixth in yards per game with 578 rushing yards and a per-game average of 72.3.
  • Lavante Bushnell is the go-to receiver for the Beavers with 442 yards, which is good for 11th best in the conference. He is one touchdown away from tying the touchdown record for the Beavers in the D2 era. 
  • Freshman returner Cory Carignan is a dangerous threat in the return game with 422 kick return yards. He has also added a score.
  • Senior kicker/punter JoseLuis Moreno is seventh in the nation and first in the NSIC in punting yards (2,201). He is seventh in the country in punting average (42.2). Moreno has recorded 13 punts inside the 20, and 18 50+ yard punts. He is also 7-10 on field goal attempts.
  • Isaiah Bigby has been a leader on the defense with 49 tackles on the season. In addition, he is tied with Justin Coleman, and Knylen Miller-Levi for the team lead in interceptions with two and has added two sacks.
  • Tamrick Ross is leading the team in tackles for loss with five and also has 2.5 sacks.
  • The Beaver defense has also picked off seven passes this season.
  • As a team, Minot State is one of the more disciplined teams in the conference, with only 37 penalties on the season (best in the NSIC).
