(Minot, N.D.) -- The Minot State volleyball team won in four sets vs. MSU Moorhead 25-21, 19-25, 25-17, 25-18.Â

In the first set, Minot State started strong with an early 4-1 lead vs. MSU Moorhead. The Beavers continued to be the aggressor throughout the first set, winning it 25-21. The Beavers had 14 kills in the set and only three errors. Emily Falldorf had a great set, having six kills.Â
In the second set, the Beavers started slowly as the Dragons took a commanding 4-1 lead. The Dragons continued to apply pressure and took a 6-2 lead. Minot State inched their way back, cutting the deficit to 8-6. MSU Moorhead would go on a 5-0 run after that, which helped them take the second set 25-19.

In the third set, Minot State took a commanding 6-1 lead, with senior Shelby Spuller and Hayley Swain delivering a pair of kills each. Both teams would answer each other, but Minot State would remain in control throughout the set. With Minot State, leading 2012 Falldorf and Spuller contributed crucial kills to end the third set, with Minot State winning 25-17.Â

The Beavers continued the momentum from the third set into the fourth, taking the early 6-1 lead. The Beavers continued to produce kills making it hard for the Dragons to make a comeback. Minot State went on to win the fourth set 25-18, and the match 3-1.

Minot State will play three matches next week. Starting on Tuesday, they will travel to Aberdeen, S.D., to face Northern State starting at 6:00 p.m. The Beavers will then follow up with their last two home matches of the season. They will play Wayne State on Nov. 8 at 6:00 p.m. and Augustana University on Nov. 9 at 2:00 p.m.Â
