(MINOT, N.D.) – The Minot State volleyball team was defeated by Wayne State three sets to none on the Beavers' Senior Night.
The Wildcats were victorious in straight sets 25-16, 25-12, and 25-14.
Wayne State scored early and often against the Beavers as Minot State could not overcome a sensational defensive performance from the Wildcats.
For Minot, senior
Shelby Spuller led the way offensively with 13 kills and 13.5 total points.
Karli Koza led the team in digs with 23. Senior Shae Pederson also had ten digs for the Beavers.
Hayley Swain produced several key defensive moments for the Beavers with five total blocks.
For Wayne, Kelsie Cada and Tarrin Beller each had 12 kills while Hope Carter led the way in digs with 15. The dominant Wildcat defense was captained by Beller, Jaci Brahmer, and Rachel Walker with a combined nine blocks.
With the loss, the Beavers now sit at 3-23 overall and 2-15 in the NSIC. Wayne State improved their standing to 21-5 overall and 12-5 in league play.
The Beavers will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 9 for the home finale against Augustana.
