Minot, N.D. – Minot State fell to Augustana University tonight 58-61 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchup in the Minot State Dome.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Beavers outscored the Vikings in the first quarter (14-13) and in the second (12-7), heading into halftime up by six points
• Augustana came back after the half with a strong third quarter shooting 58.3 percent from the field recording 20 points to Minot State 12.
• The Beavers battled back in the fourth, with the Vikings outscoring the Beavers by only one point (20-21).

BEAVER TRACKS

• Kari Clements was your leading scorer with 21 points on the night, adding two rebounds and two assists
• Mariah Payne recorded double figures on the night with 13 points, and also had five rebounds and three assists
• Six other Beavers put points on the board for Minot against Augustana – Whitney Molina (8), Calli Delsman (6), Madison Wald (3), Haley Hildenbrand (3), Reina Strand (2) and Azaria Reed (2)

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State shot 29.17 percent from the field in the first half and 59.09 percent in the second, overall shooting 43.5 percent from the floor on the night
• The Beavers held the Vikings to just a 24.1 percent 3-point shooting average for the matchup
• With the loss to Augusta University, Minot State falls to 9-12 overall and 4-11 in conference play
