Wald Ties Career-High, Leads Beavers to Weekend Sweep

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Senior Madison Wald shot 11-of-15 from the field and tallied 24 points, tying her career-high to lead Minot State to a weekend sweep on the road with a 70-52 victory at Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon.
 
Minot State won its third game in a row to improve to 13-13 on the season and 8-12 in NSIC play while Bemidji State drops to 5-19 (3-17 NSIC).

How It Happened
  • Coming off the dramatic win last night, Minot State converted its first three shots to open with an 8-0 lead.
  • BSU outscored Minot State 9-4 over the next six minutes, cutting the MSU lead to 13-9.
  • After Bemidji State cut the deficit to 17-15, Minot State rallied with an 8-2 run after Kari Clements hit a pair of free throws to stretch the MSU lead to 25-17.
  • Bemidji State took its first lead of the game at 32-31 before Minot State erupted for a 22-3 run over the next nine minutes to take a 53-35 advantage.
  • BSU cut the deficit to 14 with six minutes left, but that was as close as it got as Minot State's defense kept the Beavers in check to clinch the 70-52 victory.
