Five Beavers Reach Double-Figures in Win at Winona State

WINONA, Minn. – Five players scored in double-figures, led by David Akibo's 19 points and 11 rebounds on Friday night as Minot State garnered an 87-72 road victory at Winona State.
 
The Beavers improve to 11-15 overall and 6-11 in NSIC play while the Warriors drop to 10-13 (7-10 NSIC).

How It Happened
  • Winona State raced out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first 1:56 of the game.
  • In a span of five minutes, Beisch reeled off eight straight points and Minot State rallied on a 17-2 run to take a 17-9 lead.
  • The teams went back-and-forth before the Warriors took their final lead at 30-29 with 6:06 left in the first half.
  • With a three-point lead at the half, the Beavers started hot in the second half, extending the lead to 12 after back-to-back layups by Kody Dwyer and Beisch with 14:50 remaining.
  • A Warrior triple cut the Minot State lead to seven at 76-69 with 6:11 left.
