Karlee Coughlin launched a pair of home runs in the second game of a doubleheader vs. Minnesota State on Sunday at South Hill Complex.
The Beavers fell 10-7 in the first game before suffering a 12-7 setback in the second game.
Game One: Minnesota State 10, Minot State 7
How It Happened
- Minnesota State took a one-run lead in the first inning before Julia Suchan lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Lauren Cowden and tying the game at one in the bottom of the first.
- The Mavericks added a pair of runs on three hits in the second to take a 3-1 lead.
- The Beavers answered with an RBI triple by Randi Wright and RBI single by Kiera Shwaluk to tie the game at three.
- Minot State tacked on four runs in the fourth, led by Maggie Mercer's two-RBI single to take a 7-4 lead after four innings.
- Minnesota State tied the game at seven with three runs in the sixth before scoring three in the seventh to clinch the 10-7 win.
