LAS VEGAS, N.M. – Minot State held a lead in both games on Tuesday, but couldn't hold on as the Beavers were on the losing end of a doubleheader sweep at New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, N.M.
The Beavers fell 5-2 in the first game before dropping a 9-3 contest in the second game of the doubleheader.
Game One: New Mexico Highlands 5, Minot State 2
How It Happened
- Mason Gifford and Michael Borst reached base on back-to-back singles before scoring on a two-RBI double from Celestino Rodriguez to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
- The Cowboys responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at two.
- New Mexico Highlands took a two-run lead in the third inning before adding an insurance run in the fourth inning to secure the 5-2 victory.
