DULUTH, Minn. – The Minot State softball team suffered a pair of losses at Minnesota Duluth on Friday in Duluth, MInn.
The Beavers lost 4-3 in the first game before falling 4-1 in the second game of the doubleheader against the Bulldogs.
Game One: Minnesota Duluth 4, Minot State 3
How It Happened
- Randi Wright drew a walk before scoring on an RBI triple by Kiera Shwaluk to break the scoreless tie in the third inning.
- Shwaluk touched home on a sacrifice fly by Lauren Cowden.
- The Bulldogs responded with three runs on four hits to take a 3-2 lead after three innings.
- UMD added its fourth run on a solo home run in the fifth inning.
- Rianna Aasen hit an RBI single to left center to allow Karlee Coughlin to come home, but the Beavers couldn't get another run home in the seventh to fall 4-3 in game one.
