Box Score (Minot, ND.) -- In the second home game of the season for Minot State University Volleyball, the Beavers were not able to come up with the victory, falling 3-0.
Coming into the match, the Mustangs were confident in their play after a commanding 3-0 road win against UMary, making their overall record 7-2.
The Mustangs won the first set 25-14 with Minot State not able to answer back after an early 7-0 run led by outside hitter Rachel Fink with two kills. Senior outside hitters Jeanne Brenner and Shelby Spuller each had a pair of kills.
The Beavers led the second set in blocks with three. Senior outside hitter Hayley Swain produced two of the three. Even though the Beavers stepped up at the net, they still could not come out on top, losing the second set 25-17.
The Beavers had too many errors against the Broncos in the third set. The Beavers had seven attack errors and two serving aces, giving SMSU the third set 25-12 to close out the match.
Junior setter Mackenzie Froehlich continues to show up for the Beavers with 12 assists in today's match. On the defensive side, libero Karli Koza (7) and Froehlich (8) led the team in the digs column.

Minot State will continue conference play on the road this weekend. The Beavers take on Wayne State on Sept. 27 at 6:00 p.m. and Augustana University on Sept. 28 on 2:00 p.m.
